first_imgTuscaloosa police are searching for five men caught on video attempting a break-in at a gun store early Sunday.Police said the five men were working together, trying to get inside Guns and Ammo LLC on Greensboro Avenue. But they weren’t using their hands or tools. Instead, they used a vehicle. In video given to WVUA 23 by the store owner, the suspects are seen outside the store around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, bailing out of a car before it smashes into the store.Just an hour before, the same camera caught the team scoping out the premises.Despite their heavy-handed tactics, they couldn’t make it inside and nothing wound up taken. All five suspects escaped the scene before Tuscaloosa police arrived.Neighboring business owner Demetrius Hardy said he’s glad none of the weapons were stolen, but said the attempt is troublesome just the same.“This is the second time this has happened since I’ve been here,” Hardy said. “It’s real concerning to my business. “I don’t know if we should move or anything. I don’t know what to do.”Dozens of guns were stolen from the same store two years ago, and it’s the second time since that there’s been a burglary attempt. If you know anything about any of the men seen in the video or can help investigators solve the case, please contact Tuscaloosa Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867.last_img
