Telecom Italia Media (TIM) is expecting advertising profit from its free-to-air television channels to increase by 16% in the first half of the year. The forecast comes from TIM chief executive Giovanni Stella, who said that the increase was due to its investment in new talent on its networks. However, Stella refused to comment on the progress of its plan to sell its 77% stake in free-to-air channels La7 and MTV. Last week, its parent company announced plans to sell the stake in TIM as it looks to concentrate on its core telecoms business. ”It’s something that Telecom Italia is dealing with. We received interest for both frequencies and channels but they will be probably sold separately,” he said.
