Versailles, In. — South Ripley High School teacher accused of providing alcohol to minors, Melissa Wilhoit has resigned. Court documents say witnesses saw Wilhoit give vodka and jello shots to minors during a June party at her home.Wilhoit was charged in July by Ripley County prosecutor Ric Hertel.South Ripley School Corporation officials say they’ll accept her letter of resignation and retirement at their next meeting.
Inconnu Swim Club members were in Kamloops over the weekend taking part in the 23rd annual June Classic. A large number of personal best times were set by local swimmers, and the club also finished first among the smaller swim clubs at the meet.The Inconnu finished with 846.50 points, good enough for sixth overall in the standings out of 21 teams.Five club records were established at the meet. Owen Lang set a new mark in the boys 11 and under category in the 200 metre butterfly with a time of 4:20.01. Skyeler Kerr clocked in at 24.66 in the boys 15 and over 50 metre freestyle. Ben Blackmon established a club mark in the boys 15 and over 400 metre freestyle in 4:24.66.- Advertisement -The other two records came in the relay races. The 13-14 girls team consisting of Jordan Eyles, Brittany Welsh, Sydney Fitzpatrick, and Jayden Forster set new marks in the 200 metre freestyle relay, and the 200 metre IM relay.
